#1 Deliver Information
Web site building alone guarantees nothing! First of all, you need to understand what your target market is interested in, and who they are, then deliver quality information your potential customers can use to their advantage. Delivering quality content isn't about you, it's about your targeted audience.
#2 Earn Trust
I know, you probably have heard this time and time again, but it's worth repeating. People want to buy from businesses they know and trust. This is the whole psychology behind brand building and why well known national brand names and trademarks are worth millions of dollars. They have made the investment to build that trust. You must do the same. (It doesn't take a million dollars, but it does take determination and follow-through.)
Here's another one you've heard over and over: Keep It Simple errrr Sir. It's a mantra you don't ever want to forget, whether it's your newly built web site, content or sales pitch. Keeping it clean, simple and straightforward will always trump fancy bells and whistles, not to mention, smoke and mirrors.
#4 Call to Action
The whole purpose of any marketing endeavor is to provide a call to action, whether that is to sign up for an ezine, blog, a free offer, coupon or sale. If you don't give your viewer a reason to act, you have wasted your time, talent and money.

The mysterious world of "SEO" continues to change weekly mainly due to the tendency of greedy, unprincipled manipulators who concentrate on gaming the system. With the increasing advances in A.I., search engines have become increasingly less dependent on key words, although they still play an important part and should be included as often as practical within each web page. Search engines are increasingly capable of parsing content so the simple inclusion of key words in the body will have little effect if the content isn't there.
You are probably constantly barraged by offers to automate SEO and do many other automated tasks. Some of these offers are of great use, but always keep in mind that you must provide the elbow grease to constantly improve your website with your own creativity. There is no free lunch in this ultra competitive business!
